My Poor Toe!

Okay, so I can't get a picture of my toe off my phone and onto the computer...but hear is the story. I had just brought my 27 5th graders in from lunch and was walking up to the front of the room. I was going around a table and as I was taking a step, my shoe came off but I kept walking. I guess you could say that my baby toe did the splits around the chair leg. When I finally looked down, it was pointed straight out from my foot!! Not facing the right way! Needless to say I did not have all my faculties about me because it would have been a really cool picture to get. But I was a bit distracted from the pain and such. When I finally sat down, and I realized that I had really broken my toe, the kids were very helpful in getting me my cell phone so I could call for some help. Paula, my team teacher, Evan and a rolling chair got me down the hallway (yes laughing at how ridiculous it all was) and out to Kat's waiting car. I still couldn't look at my foot, but the shooting pain told me I was still needing a Doctor. So off we went to the Insta-Care. We hopped into the office and got a few staring looks, not "let me open the door for you," but just looks. The xray showed a nice little break right where my baby toe meets my foot! It is a fabulous shade of purple now with little red lines running up between my toes - it would be great for Halloween! So back to school I went the next day and have been crazy ever since. This is the first chance I have had to document this whole crazy thing and I will have to wait until later to get the picture on the blog. Sorry, but tune in later :)

more Yuba fun

just some more pictures from Yuba - cute Evan and Madisen cooling off! Then there is cute Josh, who fell asleep under the seat cushion - what a cutie! Dallin showing us how it's done on the knee board and Evan keeping things under control with the warning flag :)

Fun in the Sun

These are pictures from our day at Yuba Lake with our cousins and the Yates Family. The kids and I all skied and tried the "taco". The girls even started the day with a "visor" tribute to Grandma Shirley! The weather was beautiful and calm for most of the day which makes for very nice skiing!

California Pictures

What a fun time!

California Dreamin'

We headed out after Taylor's party and our first stop was Uncle Chris who treated us to a great BBQ, swimming and relaxing after our long drive. You can see Taylor sporting the GW hairstyle and the boys showing off their six-pack abs. We got up early Monday and had Dutch Babies with Uncle Chris (yum!) and then headed into Palm Desert. What a great time!! Swimming, making home movies, laughing with cousins, Tuesday Taco's, Fruyo's Yogurt, WOW its hot!!! We did make it over to Laguna Beach and spent the day at Crystal Cove. Just gorgeous! Wish we had a beach to live by - that is definitely something I miss living here is Utah. We stayed for a week and then brought the cousins back to Utah with us for some more fun!!

Happy 15th!!

So Taylor and Edward had a fine time on Taylor's birthday. She took him everywhere :) We took a few friends and actually went to see Harry Potter's The Half Blood Prince. Then it was home for pizza, silly string, and of course, looking at Edwards' poster!

little miss Taylor has lost her wisdom

Here lies Tayloroo without wisdom teeth. She doesn't even remember having this picture taken - that's how out of it she was. It took 20 minutes to remove four teeth etc. and over 30-40 minutes to get her to wake up again. Sweet little girl kept saying that she felt a little weird around her mouth? Is there something in my mouth mom? Yes Taylor and you will be numb for 3-4 hours...But Mom, I thing there is something in my mouth? Really Taylor??? It was very funny! So she survived and even managed to eat homemade ice cream for the 4th of July!

Fourth of July!!

Okay so not everyone gets their picture on the blog - but this was July4th around our house. Lot's of fireworks, marshmellows, bbq, and of course homemade ice cream! Not all of us had so much fun...poor Taylor got her wisdom teeth out :(

Summer Games - Go Rebels!

So let's see, the last time I posted we had returned from Hawaii - okay so it's been awhile. We had a terrific end of the school year and start of summer. We started it out at the Summer Games in Cedar City, UT. Evan, Taylor and I headed down with the USA Premier to see what we could do. The boys played terrific and FUN MOM was right behind them. We even had to try a little diet coke and mentos trick to get the party started!! Taylor and Rhonda have threatened to make me a t-shirt but I haven't seen one yet. The story goes that when I told Evan I could actually go to the summer games this year, because I would not be teaching, he replied, but I thought Dad was going. I said, I know but I can go this year and it would be do much fun.....his reply, but Dad is more fun... So I told Evan that I would be fun mom and we would have more fun than last year with Dad. The joke was - go ask FUN MOM she can't say no! Except for getting locked out of our room (they had to use a saws-all to get us in) it was quite an adventure. We had lots of good food, swim time and of course, soccer games. We had a pretty good record going in - but unfortunately we lost in the semi-finals to some orange team - I will not even name them!!! The refs got a bit heated but I won't just blame them - okay I'm the mom so I can blame them. The other team was even embarrassed about the refs. Hopefully they will not be back next year, but WE WILL!!! Way to go USA Rebels!
